Hats are not the beginning of our story; there is a deeper spark.
In Latvian, ‘pavarda’ means ‘of the hearth.’ In many cultures the hearth is a traditional space to cook, share warmth and stories across generations. To keep the hearth burning is a symbol of a welcoming, living home. It reminds us how, throughout the ages, we have created shelter in what we make and in each other. This inspires us to look back, connecting with old wisdom to find new ways of caring for our home planet.
With this ethos, PAVARDA creates hats as beautiful solutions that shelter you within the elements. We are also building a business that gives back. PAVARDA is designed to help regenerate nature and local economies, with ethical fashion foundations stretching from supply chains to our artistic collaborations.

Soon we will show you our debut hats and scarves—and finally announce the incredible makers and artists we are working with! We are obsessing over quality, impact, beauty and function of the hats. This is about the exquisite feeling of knowing your choices contribute to a more vibrant, restorative future.
Diving deep into sustainable materials, we are captivated by the rattan woven into our first hats. This remarkable climbing palm is integral to healthy rainforests. By partnering with a social enterprise which supports the ongoing cultivation and use of rattan, PAVARDA helps to protect these vital ecosystems. It’s a sustainable economic pathway for communities, built on their traditional cultural practices and care for forest biodiversity.
We are meticulously developing our first line, with every piece devoted to nature, culture and care. Designed for elegance far beyond fleeting trends, PAVARDA hats give invaluable protection from sun and wind, and are investments in living life with intention.
In launching PAVARDA, we envision rekindling the hearth—connecting with old ways and our shared future.
Thank you for joining us on this journey toward our 2026 launch!

Writing this on International Women's Day, I'm thinking of the strong and creative women who tended this hearth before me. While challenges of these times are profound, it is a joy to be sparking this now, with you—for her and for our future.
